Nightingale Infant & Nursery School

Welcome

A very warm welcome to Nightingale Infant and Nursery School.  We are part of the Inclusive Schools Trust, a small group of schools working together across Norwich.

We are a friendly and child-centred infant school based in Taverham, to the west of the city of Norwich.  We offer places for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.  From September 2023 we have begun to welcome children from the age of 2 into our nursery.

‘Nightingale Infant and Nursery School is a small school with a big heart. This is a school where every pupil feels valued and every pupil’s voice counts.’ – Ofsted – May 2023

In recent years, Nightingale has developed a partnership with Drayton Community Infant School; a larger infant school close by.  From 2022, a shared senior leadership team has been established across the schools, providing support, challenge and further opportunities for children, parents and staff.

We understand how important choosing the right school for your child is.

Nightingale Infant School is a place where children love to learn.  Our staff team are committed to providing the very best education for our children, ensuring that every child has the same high-quality opportunities.

We are a school that recognises every child is different, that they come from different starting points and have different challenges on their journey.  We want all our children to have a passion for learning and embed opportunities to develop a growth mindset.

Our aim is for all children to leave for the next stage in their education resilient, independent and curious learners.

‘Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported and fully included in the life of the school. Staff know when to step in and support and when to step back. Where needed, staff make subtle adaptations to the curriculum. This ensures that all children achieve ambitious end points.’ Ofsted – May 2023

We constantly strive to ensure that our curriculum is broad, balanced and challenging and that it is adapted to meet the needs of all children.

I am sure you will find the information on our website useful, and it will give you a flavour of the school.  We always welcome anyone wishing to visit our school so you can see the amazing things happening in classrooms and in our extensive outdoor area.

We look forward to meeting you.
