Parent Support
Hello Parents and Carers,
My name is Louise Cross, I am the PSA (Parent Support Advisor) at Nightingale and would like to introduce myself and my role.
My early career began after training as a nursery nurse since then I have worked in family support for many years, a job I have thoroughly enjoyed. During this time I have built up many resources to support families (as well as my own!) and undertaken specific training in a range of areas e.g. ADHD, autism, counselling children, brain development, freedom program and various parenting programmes to name a few.
I am also a Link mental health champion
Possibly the most important experience is being a mum myself.
My aim is to support you and your children to gain as much from their school experience as possible. Our daily lives can impact heavily on how children learn and settle in school. Parenting can be rewarding but at times can also be a really tough job. Many issues can impact on parents and their children, ranging between finances being stretched to the limits, physical or mental health issues to tricky behaviours from our children.
I am here to help you with any worries or concerns you may have about your child or any home issues that are making school life difficult for you and your family.
If I cannot help you personally within school, I can help you to find the right support elsewhere, referring to other agencies if needed.
I will add to the information / resources below regularly. I am a great believer in working together and would be really happy for you to share any information you have that may support other parents, please just let me know and I will add.
I will be in school 8.30-3.30 every day except Thursdays.
If you need to contact me, please call the office on 01603 867976 and I will return your call as soon as I am able or email me on psanians@istnorfolk.co.uk
I look forward to meeting you
Louise Cross
